HISTORY
It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. Karen’s mother-in-law was in town, and Karen wanted absolutely nothing to do with the woman. She had tried abandoning the woman at Wilma’s apartment, but somebody had given Will the number to her emergency garter phone. Now she was expected to go pick up the evil toad.

Rather than surrender to “the man”, Karen decided to hop on a plane. She planned to continue catching flights and drinking whatever the airlines served, until she arrived back in New York. Her last flight was Oceanic Flight 815. The plane crashed on September 22, 2004.

Karen survived the crash and tried her hardest to adjust to island life. The first day she mingled with the locals and helped a fashion victim. After that, her level of helpfulness varied from day to day. Some days she mourned the lack of alcohol, by staying in the shadows and hissing at anyone that came near her. (Her vampire days.) Other days, she took comfort in watching misfortune befall the other survivors.

A month or so after the crash, one of the meaner survivors confronted Karen about her lack of contributions to the greater good. She questioned whether the tribe was getting closer to voting her off of Survivor. The response included a confused "sure" and what was usually her favorite finger.

Not wanting to appear useless on national television, she set out into the jungle. Her goal was to catch a polar bear, to turn into a fur coat. Instead, the bear turned her into dinner.
